NIGHTCLUB guest relations officers (GROs) are now known as club ambassadors (CAs), and can earn up to RM8,000 a night providing their services to VIPs in Kuala Lumpur, Harian Metro reported.
The job grew in popularity as many were unaware that they were no different from GROs, it said.
Bukit Aman CID syndicated crime unit deputy director Datuk Ruslan Hassan said CAs joined the profession to earn part-time income and live luxurious lives.
“They have nice personalities and are good-looking, so are able to charge RM8,000 per day, including accompanying their clients for holidays,” he said.
Ruslan said so far this year, 1,020 women between the ages of 20 and 30 were nabbed for prostitution.
He also said CAs operated through agents they met through social media, who would then claim half of their income.
